Courtney Abbott

Courtney Abbott (they/she) is an actor in the midwest. Since graduating with their MFA, they have been living and working in Chicago as an actor, intimacy director/coordinator, and fight choreographer. Prior to graduate school they spent twelve years performing in the Catharsis Productions show Sex Signals, traveling worldwide to college campuses and military bases, rallying communities to identify and interrupt gender-based violence. The award-winning program was groundbreaking in its use of comedy and interactive education to raise awareness around consent and sexual assault prevention.

They used the copious airline miles collected during this job to travel around the world.

In 2018 they entered the MFA program at Ohio University where they expanded their skills of facilitation and knowledge of cultivating a culture of consent to include work as an intimacy coordinator/choreographer.

Michael Dias

Michael Dias (he/him) centers his classes around finding the joy and play in failures and mistakes. He has been a physical theater maker for over 20 years and is certified to teach the Donlon pedagogy, encompassing neo-classic mime, clown, movement for actors, mask, and devised theatre. Michael is also an Associate Instructor of Stage Combat with Dueling Arts International. In addition to being Co-Director of Education here at Redtwist and part of the core company of Proboscis Theatre Co., he is an adjunct professor of performance at both DePaul University and College of DuPage.
