In this unique class, you’ll explore the expressive possibilities of your body and learn to communicate entire worlds with just your body. Perfect for performers of all types, this class will help you deepen your physical awareness and unleash your imagination through precise movement and gesture.
Mime is a fundamental skill that enhances any actor’s toolkit. By focusing on clarity of movement, spatial awareness, and emotional expression, you’ll learn how to captivate an audience and convey complex ideas through pure physicality. These skills translate well to bring any imagined worlds to life on stage.
Michael Dias (he/him) is a certified instructor in the Donlon pedagogy, which encompasses neo-classic mime, clown, movement for actors, and mask work. With over 20 years of experience as a physical theater maker, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and a joyful, playful approach to the art of mime.
Michael is passionate about helping students embrace failure as a stepping stone to growth, encouraging a learning environment where experimentation and mistakes are part of the process. His classes are designed to foster creativity and physical confidence, making mime accessible to performers of all levels.
