Having just won a coveted grant from the Prairie Project, Jodie and Emma move to Jodie's old family farm to grow a garden out of the supplied soil and seeds. The two are desperate to settle down, to grow their own roots; but with a neighbor that continually visits to consume anything and everything, a phone that never stops ringing and the fact that they should buy a gun, their dream of settling down is getting harder. And maybe, growing roots on desertified land isn't even possible.
