Iris feels lonely and directionless in her call-center job, until work lands her on the line with Shelly - a young widow who happens to live in the same small town in which Iris's absent mother grew up. Taking the synchronicity as a sign, Iris travels back to the town for a visit with her own estranged grandmother, Ruth.

As all three of these women grapple with the ghosts of their pasts, their journeys become increasingly intertwined, encircling others in the community who shoulder their own baggage. Their stories weave an exploration of isolation, connection, loss, and resilience.
